The Brief

Reimagine the Nexa Autocolor brand

Without limitations but recognising the past, how could we move the Nexa Autocolor identity in a new direction?

The automotive industry is going through a period of unprecedented change. The move from fossil fuel to electrification, solvent based to water based paint and the introduction of new bodyshop technologies just some of the significant upheavals in recent years.

This will result in an unprecedented change in the automotive global supply chain. With less moving, serviceable parts, automation of processes and a greater focus on environmental concerns what will this mean for parts suppliers, accident repair centres and bodyshops?

The Results

Powerful visuals and a forward-thinking message

Our starting point is the message, what does the future hold and how can Nexa Autocolor help you navigate the changes rapidly approaching. As the premium refinish brand Nexa Autocolor is in a unique position to become the thought leader in the industry and set out a roadmap for success for all its customer types. To that end we devised the 'Nexa Futures' and 'Nexa Generation' concepts.

The visual identity is brand new but with a reflection on the past. The focus as always has to be the quality of the product - premium finishes on premium line autos is the focal point. The futuristic concept has been retained to distinguish the brand from its PPG counterpart but it has been toned down - it's the future but a recognisable one.

The plasma has been replaced by a cleaner, more modern line art approach which suggests a road or path forward. The logo retains the physical form with the circular eclipse motif but evolves into a halo of light around the logo type. The typeface for the logo is modernised with all other body copy moving towards the PPG brand by using the Suisse Font Family.
